Venue: The Shoestring Playhouse at the MAC, 77 Beach Rd, Torquay

Performance dates: Thu 4-Sat 13 June 2026.

It’s not often you get to hear a play before you audition, but we highly recommend you listen to the original broadcast of the War of the Worlds on YouTube, as this is what we will be recreating onstage.

Our INFORMATION NIGHT is for interested actors, musicians and crew to come along and find out more about our vision for staging the play. Audition time slots can be booked.

  • Auditions will be held at the Shoestring Playhouse at The MAC, 77 Beach Road, Torquay and are by appointment only.

    Appointment times are available for:

    • Wednesday, 4 March (7pm)

    • Tuesdays, and Thursdays from 7-10pm and Sundays from 11am-4pm (can be flexible on hours) starting on Sunday 11 April at 11am

    • There will be a Table Read though the play for all actors, musicians and crew on Thursday 9 April from 7pm

    • There will also be an on-book rehearsal in May (date tbc), for TTT members to view the play so far. This helps us publicise the play

    • You will not be needed for all weekday rehearsals, but it is expected you will all be available for Sunday rehearsals

    • Musicians will not be required every week.

  • Opening Night is Thursday 4 June, and shows on Fri 5, Sat 6 and Sun 7. The following week the show dates are: Weds 10, Thurs 11, Fri 12, Sat 13.

  • No. All actors and crew are unpaid, volunteering their time in the spirit of community theatre.

  • No! Beginners are most welcome. We do not pre-cast and our roles are open to anyone, regardless of background. Talent can be found anywhere and we encourage anyone who is curious, keen or rusty from years away from the stage to reach out and book an audition.
